Este fin de semana se cumplieron 40 años del lanzamiento del álbum Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band de The Beatles. Mucho se habló de este aniversario, e incluso la BBC realizó un homenaje en el que participaron bandas como Oasis, The Killers y The Magic Numbers, quienes grabaron con los mismos equipos analógicos utilizados en el original y la asistencia del ingeniero de sonido de Pepper, Geoff Emerick.
Pero lo que queríamos rescatar aquí es un homenaje con fin benéfico editado en 1988 por la revista New Musical Express, o sea, a mitad de camino entre el presente y el disco original, titulado Sgt. Pepper Knew My Father.
